There are 3 common problems that cause drain or sewer backups. Each is serious drain malfunction and its recommended that they’re fixed by a licensed professional.
According to several reports, the most common items removed by plumbers from drain lines are sanitary napkins, Q-tips, hair, grease, and foods. These along with growth of tree rootes block drain lines causing the waste water to come back up and resurface at the lowest drain point.
The ground area surrounding a home can only accommodate so much rainwater. When there is too much rain, water overloads the city sewer system and causes a backup in ones basement. The city should take responsibility when backups involve the city sewer system. City sewer backups are normally detected after a flood.
Drain system is a complex piping system and should be only installed by a licensed professional. If your property drain system has been poorly installed or repaired, the pipe can fail causing blockages and backups.
Sewer Pit Replacement By Best Plumber Toronto
I had an old sewer pit in the house with improper lid, which didn't seal the pit properly, could feel the sewer smell in the basement. Called several companies and every one of them said the only way is to replace the whole pit (they can't make a custom lid for the existing one). Other companies quoted more than $4000 for the job, plus 2-3 days of work(=several days of mess in the house). I tried to resolve the issue by other means: installed a fan, tried to seal the pit in different ways. Nothing helped. A friend of mine suggested them as a reliable and reasonable company. They came the next day after my call, gave me a much better quote ($1000 less than other companies), did an amazing very clean job in 1 DAY! Since then, my problem was resolved - no more sewer smell in the house. The pit works perfectly and will last a long time. I am very satisfied with their services and wish I knew about them earlier and didn't spend money on other stuff that didn't work. Would definitely recommend to everybody I know.
Replace problem clay floor drain pipe
We've been having water coming up through our basement drain this year with all the heavy storms. They solved our problem within 48 hours, from the very first contact with customer service (I was called back literally seconds after I submitted the web form) through to getting the work assessed and complete. The work was done quickly and quietly, with updates about timing and process throughout. Could not be more pleased.
Tree Roots in Sewage Pipes
Naz was wonderful to work with. We had a sewage back up that led us to discover tree roots in our sewage pipes. Naz and his team took care of everything from the permits to submitting the city of Toronto rebate for the instillation of a back water valve. He spent a lot of time answering our questions and discussing various options with us. They were on time, did an exceptionally dirty job (breaking through our cement basement floor, laying new pipes, carting away the old pipes and laying a new floor) in an exceptionally clean way. The work site was clean every day, there was minimal dust. Despite the fact that we had 4-6 workmen in and out of the house for a number of days the house was left clean. They laid tarp on our floors and carpets and hung plastic to enclose themselves and protect our belongings. We will likely need to replace pipe outside the house a few years down the road and we will definitely be calling them again. All of this was done quickly, once the job was scheduled it was done and completed. The Team Lead answered all my questions on any given day/part of the job.
